Understanding Wagering Requirements
BetflixLearn what wagering requirements mean in online casinos, how they work, and how to clear them faster.
What a Wagering Requirement Is
A wagering requirement is the number of times you must bet a bonus — and sometimes the deposit too — before you can withdraw. It is written as a multiplier: 35x, 40x, and so on.
Bonus-only wagering multiplies just the bonus. Deposit-plus-bonus wagering multiplies both, roughly doubling the work. Free-spin winnings carry their own multiplier, often higher.
The Maths, With an Example
If you claim a $100 bonus at 40x, you must place $4,000 in bets. Whether you have anything left at the end depends entirely on the game's return-to-player: at 96% RTP you would expect to lose about $160 over $4,000 of turnover.
That is why a large bonus with high wagering is often worth less than a small one with low wagering.
Clearing It Efficiently
Game weighting changes everything: slots usually contribute 100% of each bet toward the requirement; roulette and blackjack often contribute 10% or nothing, and playing them to clear a slots bonus can be a rules breach.
Stick to high-RTP slots, keep bets small and consistent, respect the max-bet rule, and never chase the requirement with money you would not otherwise spend.
